Creative MontCo was pleased to announce an innovative public art project, sponsored by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Daily News, PECO, and The Montgomery County Foundation, Inc. Area artists, nonprofits, community organizations, businesses, and inspired individuals that live, work, or serve Montgomery County were invited to redesign a classic newspaper honor box and turn it into public art.
The competition kicked off in January 2014. Applicants entered the competition free-of-charge. All entries were displayed at this year’s Norristown Arts Hill Festival, on May 3, 2014 where they were judged by a local panel (and the crowd attending the festival) for prizes and awards.
Interested in hosting your own competition? Download our new report, which summarizes how to do this in your own community or within your organization. Creative MontCo would be happy to help facilitate more competitions around the county.
