His versatility allowed him to move seamlessly between jazz, classical, pop, and R&B styles, even expanding into producing albums for other artists. In the '80s, with longtime collaborator George Duke, he formed the pop-oriented Clarke/Duke Project. He also played in Stewart Copeland's Animal Logic and Ron Wood's New Barbarians. A four-time Grammy award-winner, Clarke is now touring with acoustic pianist Beka Goshiashvili, keyboardist Cameron Graves, and drummer Michael Mitchell. His recent album, UP, unveils an exciting mix of new and old compositions, alternating between acoustic and electric formats.
